Taxation Awards 2008

I am pleased to be able to introduce you once again to the winners of this year’s LexisNexis Taxation Awards, now in their eighth year.

The awards were held in the Grand Ballroom of the Park Lane Hilton on 22 May 2008, when more than 700 people gathered to celebrate the achievements of the best in the tax profession.

My congratulations not only to the eventual winners, but also to all those who were shortlisted.

The awards are organised by teams within both LexisNexis and our events organiser, RBI. I am very grateful to all those involved for all that they have done to make the awards so successful. I am particularly grateful for all the hard work put in by the judges to come to their carefully considered decisions.

We have again been pleased to support the work of TaxAid in representing those who cannot afford to pay for tax advice, and more details of their work can be found elsewhere in this brochure.

Finally, but most importantly, it would not be possible to hold these awards without the support of our sponsors. We have had more help from them this year than ever before, and I would like to thank them for their continued commitment to making this the highlight of the tax calendar.

We are grateful to our sponsors for supporting the eighth annual Taxation Awards.

We are proud to be associated with them, representing as they do the finest service providers, training bodies and recruitment agencies within the tax sector.

This year's Taxation Awards panel of judges was once again chaired by Taxation editor Mike Truman. (Read his Message from the Chair of the Judges.)

It comprised some of the most respected figures in the tax industry, invited to sit on the eight-strong panel to offer their unrivalled experience and know-how.
