Welcome to ...

... the Taxation Awards 2009
It is my privilege to introduce the recipients of the 2009 LexisNexis Taxation Awards following a spectacular ceremony held in the grand ballroom of London's Park Lane Hilton on 21 May 2009.

I am delighted that so many people from the tax community assembled to celebrate the achievements of their friends and colleagues. On behalf of all at LexisNexis, I would like to extend my most sincere congratulations to the winners and all those who were shortlisted.

The judges yet again faced an enormous challenge, given the number and quality of the entries this year. I am very grateful to them for the time and effort they put into selecting the worthy winners.

In addition, I would like to thank the many people involved in arranging the awards, including my colleagues at RBI and within LexisNexis. It turned out to be a truly memorable evening.

We have again been pleased to support the work of TaxAid in representing those who cannot afford to pay for tax advice.

Finally, but most importantly, it would not be possible to hold these awards without the support of our sponsors. I would like to thank them for their continued commitment to making the Taxation Awards the highlight of the tax calendar.

Josh Bottomley, managing director, LexisNexis
