TaxAid and Tax Help for Older People provide free, confidential, and professional tax advice on personal tax issues to people living in poverty across the UK. Taxpayers on low incomes, including the self-employed, people with multiple or precarious employment, and pensioners continuing to work to make ends meet, come to us for help. They cannot afford to pay for advice and their tax problem is often just one of the challenges they face.

In 2023-24 over 18,000 people contacted us for help. Without our support, many would be living with unresolved tax problems and debt, suffering from the debilitating stress this brings. As Mrs L testifies, our team of staff and volunteers really do transform lives: Everyone was very professional, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I would not have been able to achieve the successful outcome of my complaint without the help and support from your charity. I'm truly grateful.
